Mystery
I just added a listing for a print of this painting "Mystery" that I painted last year. This acrylic painting brought me lots of luck last year...I won first prize in a juried contest with it and I sold it. I kind of miss it though....it's funny how some paintings can come to mean so much to the artist. :)

New ACEO - Two Fish
I finally did a little painting. It's been a long time. I'm really enjoying painting ACEOs right now because I can paint one when I don't have much time - which seems to be ALWAYS right now.
I painted two. The first one is a prize. I offered a prize for the 20,000th hit on my worship blog (which happened months ago) and since I knew that the lady who was my 20,000th person liked art - she bought one of my ACEOs - I decided her prize would be a painting.
Since it was hit 20,000 I tried to think of something with that number and the old show 20,000 leagues under the sea came to mind, so I paint this little ACEO.
Notice the 20,000 near the bottom.
I liked it so much I painted another and now it is in my Etsy shop.

Newest Four in the Singular Beauty Series
Four new paintings added to the "Singular Beauty" tree landscape series which feature a solitary tree in a colorful minimalist abstract landscape setting. The pieces are done on 8x8 MDF artists' panels that are pre-drilled with nail holes. These smaller wood panels can be displayed alone, but would also look great clustered with others in the series. Custom requests are also welcome.

"Play the Chessmaster" - 9 x 12"
Anyone who's visited Harvard Square (Cambridge, MA) in the summertime is undoubtedly familiar with the following scene. I snapped some photos a few years back, and always thought this one would make a great subject for a painting. This "chessmaster" has been immortalized in photos by many photographers, and now he's made it into one of my oil paintings!
This time, I also thought it would be nice to take photos of the painting-in-progress. Hopefully you enjoy this little slideshow!

Purple Moon Collage (ACEO)
For some reason the song "Just Once in a Blue Moon" was playing in my head while I was making this. Of course, the moon in this stylized forest scene is purple not blue, but what can I say? :0)

Ti and Crotons

New Birds!
This is another of my "Little Bird" paintings. I've done several of these lately - have also just finished a set of four of them as part of a commission. You'd think I'd be tired of birds and branches, but I actually find these really relaxing to paint for some reason!
This canvas is an original painting, created using acrylic paints, ink, colored pencil and collaged paper. This one is 8x8" square and around half an inch deep.
These smaller paintings look great placed on a shelf or fire surround, as well as on the wall!

New Paintings, one for show, one for etsy
Hello! This week I worked on a piece for a show in a gallery. The theme was Americana and fortunately the piece got accepted! Yay for me! :) It is oils and measures 24"x12" I called it New Beginnings, old flag, fresh sunrise, seemed appropriate :)
So I had some leftover paint on the palette and decided to do a small oil painting to list on etsy. It is from the same series of photos from which I took for the flag reference, a sunrise at a local beach last spring. This one measures 9.5"x7" and you can find it here on my etsy shop http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=20095103
I normally work in pastel so it was fun pulling out the oil paints again! Anyway thanks for looking and hope you all have a great day!
