 I like to create art and especially like to bring people joy and touch their hearts via my art and being a shop owner on Etsy enables me to do that globally. I use a symbolic visual language exploring both the visible and invisible creating a commentary on relationships and thoughts. As I work the images can be unexpected flowing from gathered memories. Music plays a role in my process and seeps into my art. I build layers making connections and a story comes forth and unfolds. The work evolves, and quite often by the time the painting is finished it has a history of stories interwoven in the layers.

This is a stylized Peacock Feather. These beautiful birds dance in the rain, showing their colorful feathers, hence this brings to mind a Rain-dance, the Peacock Dance, the droplets on the feather which are truly Sporadic. The Peacock, OUR NATIONAL BIRD, is An Abstract Painting on the color-wheel, showing beautiful colors.Here the artist captures the composition of bright colors, bringing in positive energy, each color depicting various moods, as cheerfulness, energy, vigor,(Yellow) serenity, spirituality,(Violet and Purple) Warmth, (Orange) Adventure (Red) Abundance (Green) Peace and Tranquility (White) Passion and Beauty (Pink) Calmness (Blue) the color gold depicts wealth,  copper and bronze depict Mother earth, and we all owe something in return, our being is a Blessing, we cherish Life, we are indebted for this Tremendous Gift, a responsibility towards ourselves, our families, society, hence i feel it is important to save our environment...! so there is a hidden message for us all...!

Hydrangeas

I am very excited to present a new series of watercolor paintings featuring soft flowing florals and nature overlaid on impressionistic geometric pattern backgrounds! 


This first painting available for purchase is "Hydrangeas". One of the first things I fell in love with here in the Pacific NW were the blue hydrangeas. 

Painted with Daniel Smith watercolor paints, one pigment is Sugilite Genuine, a natural pigment from South Africa. It's a rare opaque mineral ranges from grayish lavendar to pink to deep purple and has a slight graphite sheen. This gives the painting just the slightest bit of sparkle in spots.

It measures 10.75" x 14.75" and is easily matted in a standard mat for an 11x14 picture.

Cottage Bouquet

I have had so much fun this week, playing with the new art supplies I got for Christmas. My new Kolinsky sable watercolor brushes are awesome, and I've been inspired to try some new techniques.

This is my first attempt at a more spontaneous style of painting. I began by randomly dropping scrunched kleenex on the paper and drawing around them. Then I laid in a wash of Rhodonite (pink), New Gamboge (yellow) and Cobalt (blue). I pressed some hydrangea flowers and dropped them onto the wet paint, along with several pinches of salt. It looked a little like a tie dye shirt from the 60's!

Then, I began looking for flower shapes and slowly sketched out a bouquet. The next few days were filled with adding layers upon layers to create the flowers and background. Throughout the whole painting, I only used these three colors, mixing and layering to get all the varied colors!

ANOTHER PERFECT K-BAY DAY ~ Lisabongzee's Island Dream Life

After painting so many mini’s
it felt a bit strange working on a larger canvas again!

Some mornings, you will find Kane’ohe Bay quite magical. With sunny, clear skies, and quiet, calm waters, the colorful little boats bob about lazily. Not an ounce of breeze to disturb the tropical palms. Add in the beautiful Koolau mountain range, and Chinaman’s Hat in the distance, and you easily get the feeling of another perfect day in Hawai’i Nei.

"Another Perfect K~Bay Day" is a 20 x 16 palette knife painting.

PLAY DAY HANALEI ~ Lisabongzee's Island Dream Life

Hanalei Bay, on Kauai's north shore, is a gorgeous place to spend the day. Surrounded by lush green waterfall-filled mountains, and sparkling turquoise waters, you are sure to find many people having fun. Whether it be sailing, kayaking, surfing, stand up paddleboarding, pier jumping, fishing, or just lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun and all that picture perfect scenery, it really is a play day in Paradise!
