Quiet Strength

"Quiet Strength," 2008 by Lea Keohane. All Rights Reserved.
This is my newest painting, acrylic on masonite, measuring 18" x 24". I was highly complemented a few days ago when a friend told me it reminded him of Tim Burton :) Like most of my work, I do not start with a plan or particular inspiration. I get up early in the morning and stand before the canvas with a Sharpie in my hand and just start drawing, letting the drawing evolve as I go.

Very nice, Lea! I don't plan much of my oil paintings either, they just come to me as I work!

Thanks Jean! I appreciate the compliment :) I have a difficult time at shows and things, when people are asking me about my work, what the meaning behind it is, where I got my ideas...I am not a bs-er, so they are always frustrated when my answer is, "I don't know." Haha!
