Rhamphorhynchus

Hi all. My first blog ever!!

Just wanted to throw my largest (and my fave) plaque up. This is a representation of the Jurassic pterosaur, Rhamphorhynchus. Found throughout Europe, this animal was thought to be an accomplished fisher, using his curved maxilla to skim through the water as he flew above it's surface. Sharp, rear-pointing teeth ensured that once a fish was snagged, it had nowhere to go but down.

Please check out my other pieces at www.piecesofprehistory.etsy.com
