Sometimes it's difficult to determine the best orientation for a mandala. Here are two more I've cut, each of which has that happy problem. When I am creating hanging mandalas, I have to choose in order to string them. With these frame-able ones, the customer gets to choose which way to mount them.

Kirigami Mandalas, ready to frame
I've cut two more 8" mandalas for my Etsy shop (EmerlyeArtsKirigami.Etsy.com) which will remain "naked" and ready to frame. These were a two movie project. A few more and there should be a good sampling of frame-able papercuttings in the shop to complement the hanging ones.

New Valentines to Frame
Some of my online customers have asked me to create kirigami that is un-laminated and capable of being framed. This works well for me because even though I have many framed mandalas showing in shops and galleries, this gives me a way of selling them online without the hastle of trying to ship framed work. So, in honor of the approaching Valentine's Day, I've created two new cuttings, naked, placed on a backing and ready to be framed. They are listed in my Etsy shop at www.EmerlyeArtsKirigami.Etsy.com

Butterfly Window
This is actually the result of me attempting to organize my studio. While going through some things, I found this lovely little pre-cut mat board. And being me, instead of continuing my organizing, I painted something to go in the mat.
It is a lovely little watercolor and ink. And including the mat board it measures 5x7".

Hi all. My first blog ever!! Just wanted to throw my largest (and my fave) plaque up. This is a representation of the Jurassic pterosaur, Rhamphorhynchus. Found throughout Europe, this animal was thought to be an accomplished fisher, using his curved maxilla to skim through the water as he flew above it's surface. Sharp, rear-pointing teeth ensured that once a fish was snagged, it had nowhere to go but down.
