Encaustic Journey

Greetings from Georgia!
Here is one of my new encaustic pieces which will be in my etsy shop soon. (www.etsy.com/ladynite56) For those of you unfamiliar with encaustic work, it is done entirely with wax. I am really enjoying learning the process of "painting" with a hot iron. This ancient technique has had a recent resurgence in the art world among both artists and art collectors. The texture you can achieve by layering wax is amazing and the pieces are surprisingly resilient except to extreme heat. They can actually be polished with a soft cloth! Anyone interested in seeing further encaustic products and paintings can visit www.encausticrocks.com
