Red-Lipped Ladies

These new paintings are 11" by 14" on canvasboard. I haven't painted anything big like this in acrylic in a good long while, and I'm pleasantly surprised with how they came out. I didn't even get completely covered in paint this time. I think I might break out the old oil paint set sometime, just to have fun, but on a day when I can open the window and not freeze to death. I hope that time of year may come around soon. Very soon. I'm kind of burned out on the cold and dark, even though I'm sure our friends the vampires are loving it.

Leah Felicity, I love your ladies. They are so delightfully quirky! Your work has such a sunny, off-beat energy about it. I hope you will do more of these!

Fun paintings, love the bird and girl especially. Great way to let loose and push away these winter doldrums.
