Ice Storm Creations

There was a big ice storm here in Vermont today. Since I couldn't go anywhere or do anything that required power, I sat by the wood stove for most of the day and cut paper. I cut more kirigami than ever in one sitting and now my hands are aching -- but the result is lovely. Every piece is a hand cut 8x8inch papercutting. I will be putting several of todays kirigami mandalas in my Etsy shop in the next day or two. You can see more on my art blog.

Here are some of today's storm babies:

Spikey

Mermaids

Five Gold Rings

You can find more examples of today's work on my art blog. www.EmerlyeArts.blogspot.com

I saw coverage of the ice storm on the news, but nothing nearly as lovely as your photograph.

Your Kirigami pieces are stunning...you certainly are very talented! I can't imagine doing that kind of cutting...

Cheers

We were just cold and wet in Philadelphia, but I read about the areas affected by the ice storms(such as yourself). Your photograph is beautiful. I know a lot of damage can be done by ice storms, but the photographs look so enchanting.
