Trees Of The Lava Fields

Giclee print from a photograph of a native Hawaiian Wiliwili tree thriving in the intense heat of a lava field, whose trunk is as brilliant as if it were fine pottery fired in a kiln.

Native Wiliwili trees are a keystone species in Hawaii's lowland dry forest, one of the most endangered ecosystems in the world. They are one of my favorite trees, I visit them often, especially in August when they lose all of their leaves and produce these crazy beautiful flower clusters.
