I added quite a few new images. Here are two of them. The first one is titled Tropical Treasure I http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14917290 and the second one is Passion Flower http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14917650 .

Plumeria flowers are very fragrant and therefore make excellent leis to welcome a visitor, congratulate a graduate, or to simply say, “I love you!” The plumeria flower is indeed one of Kauai ’s “tropical treasures”.

The passion flower as we know it in Hawaii is the flower of the passion fruit (or lilikoi) that is present in so many of the tropical fruit juices we enjoy. It is a very interesting and intricate flower. Its complex design has also been linked to the story of Christ’s Passion. The ten petals represent the ten apostles present at the crucifixion; the filaments represent the crown of thorns; the five anthers represent the wounds; and the three stigmas represent the nails. This piece has a special meaning for me since it was one of five paintings that survived a fire in 2001 that burned down my art studio. I reframed the original and gave it to my good friend and art mentor whose gallery also burned in the same fire.

Both of these prints are available in 5"x7" for $9 each. With my buy 2 get 1 free sale, you can get 3 prints for $18. So, next time you need to send a little ALOHA please visit http://www.kauaiartist.etsy.com !
