Collaboration

Bandit Love - 9 x 12 Acrylic on Canvas, B.Giordano

The 5 x 7 print of this art is listed in my Etsy shop. I created this piece on impulse after seeing a photo of it in the Etsy front page treasury. This is my interpretation.

Amanda, who's shop name is AWBAR on Etsy, does baby animal rescue. She has a cute photo in her shop of these two little rascals that caught my eye.

I was looking for something to challenge me and asked Amanda if I could use the photo as reference. The answer was a big "yes". As I was painting this piece, it occurred to me the benefit collaboration could provide for Etsy artists. Many artists welcome reference material to create artwork. I, myself need some type of reference whether it's from life or photos. Etsy artists could work together in their shops to promote each other from "borrowed" work.

The listing for the print of Bandit Love has a reference back to Amanda's shop. It's my way of saying "thanks" to her and at the same time promoting her shop and the work she does for animal rescue.

Thank you! I think it helps when artists can work together. Amanda allowed me to use the photo of the raccoons as reference for the painting.

Etsy has many great photographers... perhaps there are opportunities for collaborating and promoting each other's work. It's just a thought...
