Forest Through The Trees~Silk Painting

" Forest Through The Trees"
I had just completed a silk scarf, which was the first assignment by my art instructor. The second assignment was to create a silk painting. " Who me?",I asked. " From what?" The instructor handed me a photo of a stand of trees. My eyes crossed and blurred at the amount of trees in that photo.
Wow!, I thought, now I truly know the meaning of " You can't see the forest through the trees."
I stretched and pinned the silk to a wood frame, then began to apply the gutta to outline the trees and background. After the gutta dried, I chose the dyes I would use.
I applied the blues of the sky, and various color of tree trunks, a blending of different green grass colors. I enjoyed the finished piece, and went on to create a silk pillow to match.
