New Encaustic Works

Hello everyone!

I am proud to be a new member of VAST! I usually do oil painting or collage work with recognizable subjects, such as people and fruit. I was inspired recently by some closeup photos in a book on the restoration of paintings. The closeups showed problems with paintings, such as cracking or detaching of paint. These photos were so beautiful they inspired me to do encaustic abstracts based loosely on the photos. As I went on my paintings became less and less like the original photos but kept on inspiring me. This first one to be listed in my etsy shop is called: The Approach.
