The Times Of Danny Boy

Good Day!  I have four new ACEO's to share with you.  These little drawings are all based around the character and antics of our little min pin, Danny Boy.  Danny Boy loves to be outside when it is warm and the sun is shinning.  But occasionally he does get

"Caught By April Showers"

At other times he will be outside, enjoying a warm breeze and soaking up the sun when out of no where he will be surprised by

"Danny Boy's Nemesis"

Most of all Danny Boy loves going on long walks in the early evening hours with his "Dad".  Danny Boy especially enjoys the springtime and is constantly stopping along the way and 

"Taking Time To Smell The Flowers"

Once he and "Dad" get home from their evening walk, Danny Boy proudly bounds into the house to let "Mom" know he has done his job and exercised "Dad"!  For this outstanding job he earns a reward of some kind, in this case it was one of his favorite treats - A Chew!  Unfortunately, this presents the poor little fellow with 

"A Dog Gone Dilemna"

And he is confronted with the challenge of finding the ultimate safe hiding place for his treasured treat!

Summer Angel

This is a mixed media canvas that I'm working on to submit to a charity art auction. 

My theme was "angels"; this is my interpretation of the "Angel of Summer". I pictured her with roses in her hair and surrounded by butterflies! 

She still needs a little more work I think, but I like her so far!

Happy Earth Day from Nature's Charms

This is one of my original palette knife oil paintings titled
"Sail Away For The Day"



It is a diptych done on two 12 x 12 canvases. Each painting is framed in it's own 12x12 koa frame. Koa is a rare wood of the Hawaiian Islands, and the grain and color is absolutely beautiful.

This piece was done as a diptych, both pieces can be kept joined, to be hung as one complete piece. But you also have the option of keeping them disconnected and hung separately, each it's own painting. The choice is yours.

This is an original painting on watercolor paper, sold framed and matted. The image depicted is Belmont Harbor in Chicago. I love the drama of this scene: the most easterly trees bathed in the waning evening light, the other trees casting strong silhouettes against the vibrant sky, and one whimsical cloud floating along.

Tree Goddess, a self portrait

If I were to tell you this painting is a self portrait, where would your thoughts take you? I brought this painting into class and told my students this tree/woman painting I just finished was a self-portrait and asked them to interpret what that could mean to them. I was absolutely blown away by their responses. George Lucas, creator and mastermind of Star Wars recently expressed the importance of teaching children the different 'languages''; art and music being these languages. With this conversation with my kids I finally experienced what he meant.

"Two New Fantasy Illustrations!"

I must have been in the mood for a bit of fantasy when I illustrated these two little numbers which I have titled "My Inner Elfs" and  "A World Of Our Own".  These are black and white illustrations complete with elves, mushrooms, plus much more.   I have just listed them for sale as authorized art prints in My Etsy Shop.

In addition to being black and white compositions, they also makes dandy coloring pages! Children of all ages (we all have an inner child in us somewhere) will find delight in coloring them in using colored pencils and fine line color marking pens. When completed, if one decides to add their own color, one can add to the bottom of the page "Colored by ________________".  Thereby adding their own creativity to the piece!

Portrait of my Son Ryan complete

Aloha!  The portrait of my son Ryan is complete.  I need to step away from it for a week and I might tweak it a little (the flowers and background).  I am happy with the results and will call it a day. 

I am available for commission work.  If you have a family member you would like me to paint, please contact me.  The cost depends on the size of the canvas and how many people are in the painting.  This portrait of my son measures 11"x14" and the cost today is $465.00 US dollars.
