I love peonies. They are so fleeting. I miss them already so I saved the experience in this and other watercolors of the peonies in my yard and neighborhood. I've turned some of them into fabric designs too via an online print-on-demand fabric site.

I have just started an artist blog. My intention is to initially reflect on and share the struggles, challenges and joys of my journey to becoming an artist.

Mourning Doves

It's always interesting to see the way the mourning doves interact with each other. Usually they seem very quiet and caring towards each other, as if they do not want to be disturbed. In my new painting, 'The Proposal', I try to show the caring I observe from these delicate crreatures.

Cupcakes!

My newest original mixed media canvas - nine cupcakes created with pretty collaged papers (if you look closely you'll see one is from a recipe book!), acrylic paints, and bits of ribbon, buttons and ephemera - I like to recycle!

Breakthrough

This 10"x 10" acrylic painting has fiery oranges and golden yellows-coming out of the black and magenta backround. Finished with a splattering of gold(which is hard to capture in the photos).This multi-layered painting shows the beauty of an idea exploding into recognition. Elation and confusion as thoughts rearrange. Also known as growth. Painful and beautiful, all at the same time.
