While I'm working on large paintings I like to keep these small canvases next to me and work out new ideas as they pop into my head. The Talking Pictures series is about letting the paint speak for itself, letting it find its own way across the canvas. It's about giving up control (very hard for me!) This is the first composition in the series and my favorite so far. Created with remnants of discarded paint on my palette; the dried shells create a wonderful texture which give the compositions further depth.
